I've set up this blog as a sort of partnership that will run alongside my English Language A-level. This blog will respond to many topical issues about the English Language. For my first topical debate (whether we English should accept Americanisms into our language).
I've recently written a blog post exercising my views on Americanisms, the positives and also negatives of them being used in our British English. In the post I've talked about professional opinions and how William Shakespeare himself ties into it. I speak about the varieties of words provided by Americans, how diverse yet similar our languages truly are and also the opinions of those who agree or disagree with the use of Americanisms. This blog is for us all to take a look at our beautiful language. Sit back, relax, its going to be a bumpy ride.
